Company Profile - Who We Are

Alpine Gems and Minerals has been in business since 1965, providing sculpting alabaster and rough lapidary materials including obsidian, agates, jasper, onyx and similar materials. Over the last 43 years, we have established a reputation for our excellent stone quality and large variety of stone.  We mine all of our own stone, providing to you the best possible price for the stone.  We have shipped thousands of tons of rough stone to hundreds of customers all over the world from our Utah headquarters. Our stone yard and sales office is in Summit, Utah, and we also have a sales office in Parowan, Utah.  See the map to our facilities.

We are known for our translucent orange and raspberry red alabaster, and thousands of sculptures which have been made by hundreds of artists, including Native Americans.  We are suppliers for many sculpting supply businesses, as well as direct to sculptors.  Larger customers get better pricing than customers buying in smaller quantities.

History Behind the Company

Alpine Gems and Minerals is a family business, and has been since 1965.  We originally provided building stone, and then added lapidary and sculpting materials.  Paul and Arjean Lamoreaux and their sons & daughters have run the business for many years, but as of January 2008, the business ownership began the process of transitioning from our founders Paul and Arjean, to their sons and daughters.  The three sons, Marcus, Adam and Ben, have been with the business for decades.  Marcus and Ben continue to provide service to our customers and are well qualified to assist all of our valued customers.
